 Pitch Perfect — Bobby Boswell

Club: D.C. United
Position: Defender
Birthdate: March 15, 1983
Hometown: Tampa, FL

90:00 Which player do you hate playing against the most? Toughest opponent?
Boswell I’ve played against a lot of guys that are pretty good. When I was younger, I was over in England and played with Shaun Wright-Phillips. He was a great player then and he’s a great player now.

90:00 Who was your favorite team growing up and why?
Boswell I was a Mutiny fan because I’m from Tampa. I’ve always supported Ajax because I could watch them on TV and Manchester United ’cause I went over there to watch a game, at Old Trafford.

90:00 Who was your favorite player and why?
Boswell I like Zidane; I liked a lot of the central midfielder players. Ronaldo is great.

90:00 Best player you’ve played with…
Boswell That would be Jamie Moreno.

90:00 Best player you’ve played against…
Boswell Yeah, it would probably be Shaun Wright-Phillips.

90:00 Your biggest influence and why…
Boswell My coaches, I’ve had many great coaches; Steve Wegerle, Pete Minneow, Pablo Pinzone were all good influences.

90:00 If you had to get a non-soccer job tomorrow, what would it be?
Boswell I’d probably be playing baseball.

90:00 Funniest moment on the field…
Boswell Not too many funny moments on the field. I’m pretty serious when it comes to soccer.

90:00 What are some of your hobbies?
Boswell I like to go to concerts; I’m a big movie buff, maybe play on the computer.

90:00 Which soccer player would you pay the most to watch?
Boswell Right now, I’d pay to go see either Chelsea or A.C. Milan.

90:00 The most intimidating place you’ve played…
Boswell Mexico—Mexico City was intimidating [against UNAM Pumas in April].

90:00 What’s been your career highlight so far?
Boswell Probably just playing every game [of the MLS season], and being a new guy and having an opportunity to play.

90:00 Any advice you’d give a young soccer player...
Boswell Practice, practice, practice. You can never practice too much.
