Jacob Singer

Jacob Singer

Jacob Singer is a freelance writer who lives in Chicago. He will be covering MLS for 90 Minute Soccer. When he’s not at home reading or writing, he’s playing pickup soccer at Wicker Park. He also writes about the Chicago music scene for Rocknrollghost.com.


Amanda Beemer

Amanda is a recent graduate of DePaul University where she studied Political Science and Philosophy. Although she played soccer as a youth like most suburban white kids, her passion for the sport was not truly ignited until she attended a Chicago Fire match. She has been closely following the club ever since, and continues to educate herself on every aspect of the sport. Although she just may one day revisit the pitch in an attempt to resurrect her destiny, for now she is delighted to be writing for 90:00, and perfectly content with just cheering her boys on from the Fire’s infamous support section.


James Mundia
James Mundia

James Mundia is a soccer player, coach, enthusiast and writer based out of Washington, DC. James played soccer while growing up in the Worcester, MA and Raleigh, NC areas. A 2007 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Mundia coached high school soccer in Carrboro, NC. James now resides in the Washington, DC area and is pursuing a career in broadcast journalism.


Milos Kosic

Milos Kosic grew up in Belgrade, Serbia. He studied journalism for a year and a half at Northwest College in Wyoming, before moving to New York. Currently, he is a creative writing student at City College of New York. After he graduates, he plans to pursue a career in publishing.


Jason Le Miere

Jason Le Miere was raised a die-hard soccer fan by his father growing up on the island of Jersey, in the Channel Islands, U.K. He spent time studying media and culture in London, where he took the opportunity to see many EPL games. Soon after, he transferred to study journalism in California and has since moved to New York, where he is currently a freelance writer covering both soccer and rock music.


Doug McBride
Doug McBride

Doug is a writer, interviewer, and producer of video content for various print and online publications. He’s also had a lifelong love affair with the beautiful game, and at various times he’s been a fan, player, coach, referee, and writer on the game. He grew up in L.A. and played NCAA college soccer for East L.A. College (one year) and UCSD (three years), before moving to Europe for two years to bang around in the non-league divisions in both Scotland and Spain. He still plays for three different teams in the L.A. area, and continues to watch, love, and write on the game for 90 Minutes Soccer.


Alex Baker
Alex Baker

Alex Baker is a Los Angeles based freelance writer and avid devotee of the beautiful game. He joined 90 Minute Soccer in the summer of 2010 and he covers the Los Angeles Galaxy. As a kid Baker spent his summers with his father who lived a few metro stops from the Ajax Arena in Amsterdam. It was in Amsterdam that Baker developed a fascination for the Dutch “total football” of the ’70s and ’80s. While soccer is his first love, he also writes about martial arts and variety of other subjects for a number of print and web based publications. As a football journalist Baker’s work has appeared at the Los Angeles Times online, USA Today online and in the Yahoo and AOL newsfeed. As a music journalist Baker has written for the SF Weekly, the East Bay Express and a host of websites that went under in the dot.com crash. Mario Melara
Mario Melara

Mario Melara is a Southern California native who is currently attending the University of Southern California. While completing his undergraduated degree at the UC Santa Barbara, Mario created and started the blog called ‘US Soccer News, Scores, Updates, & More’. The sport of soccer has been a major component of Mario’s life, from attending a World Cup Game at the Rose Bowl in 1994, playing AYSO and club soccer, to seeing the first MLS game between the San Jose Clash and D.C. United. Mario’s passion for soccer comes from the fact that he believes no one player is bigger than the team, club, or country. To Mario, soccer is virtuoso, physical, elegant, fast, and about playing collectively, like a world-class orchestra. Mario hopes one day in his life to be fortunate to see the U.S. Men’s National Team lift its first ever World Cup Trophy. Mario’s current projects include working as a soccer correspondent for Moncrief in the Morning on the Sports Journey Network, and a regular guest on This Week in SoCal Sports, focusing on covering the local Los Angeles soccer scene.


Michelle Mockler
Michelle Mockler

Michelle Mockler is a recent high school graduate who is passionate about soccer as well as writing. She hopes to pursue a career in journalism, with her intended major being broadcast journalism and her intended minor being communications. Michelle will be interviewing players from the MLS and USL teams, giving an in-depth look into their personal achievements and athletic careers. Erik Bartlett
Erik Bartlett

Erik Bartlett is a Bay Area native who lives and breathes soccer. A recent graduate from University of California- Santa Barbara, he joined 90:00 Soccer in July 2010 to cover the San Jose Earthquakes of MLS. Ryan Smith

Twenty six years old, he lives in Pittsburgh and has been working as an accountant since graduation in December 2008 from Robert Morris University. Over the past six years, he has been seriously training himself to become a full time paid writer by meticulously reading Philosophical and Classical literature. His passion and ambition is to become a writer, one that can relate to others and help them to better understand the world around them, hopefully in a affable, humorous, and distinct way.


William Gray
William Gray

William Gray is a restaurant manager and freelance writer living in Denver, CO. Although he grew up a Columbus Crew fan, he’s been transplanted to the Rocky Mountains and now covers the Rapids for 90 Minutes Soccer. Gray’s articles have appeared in AOL and Yahoo news feeds as well as other AOL news sites. Gray will be covering all the action from Dick’s Sporting Goods Park as the Rapids make their push for a championship in 2010. Todd Kurpel

Todd Kurpel lives in the suburbs of Philadelphia with his wife and son. He enjoys all Philadelphia sports and hopes to one day see the World Cup come to the city. He attended the University of Scranton and LaSalle University where he earned his BS and MA degrees. He is currently working on his PhD from Nova Southeastern University.


Sean Hartnett

Sean Hartnett is a 25 year-old aspiring soccer columnist who lives just outside New York City in northern New Jersey. He loves writing about the beautiful game and enjoys discussing soccer with anyone who shares a passion for the sport he loves. His expertise is wide but he follows the English Premier League and Spanish La Liga most closely. Sean is a European football correspondent for Bleacher Report but also covers the NHL and MLB frequently. He will be covering (Premier League, La Liga and European football) for 90 Minute Soccer. In his spare time, Sean joins the Liverpool Supporters of New York on match day and plays pickup soccer around the area he lives. He also is a passionate supporter of Atlético de Madrid, Celtic FC and the Irish national team. Stephanie Gardner

Stephanie Gardner is a wife and mom/foster mom of 5 in the Colorado area. She didn’t know much about soccer until she met her husband. When she saw him play, It was love at first sight, love for both her man and the game. She is a huge fan of AC Milan and Arsenal, but also enjoys cheering for the Colorado Rapids. Envious of the Seattle fans, she longs for the day when all MLS games are sold-out, and fans are standing, cheering together, while singing a song. She enjoys writing about the experience of being a foster mom, and also the awesome sport of soccer. Stephanie is thrilled to be writing for 90Soccer.com.


Karen Watson
Karen Watson

Karen Watson is a chef, freelance writer, ABBA enthusiast, and soccer fanatic. Originally from Baltimore, the land of pleasant living, her first love will always be the Orioles. But at the age of nine she realized she had plenty of love to go round and latched on to the beautiful game beginning with indoor soccer and later, matches on the big pitch. Her first dose of global football fever came while attending various games at RFK Stadium in Washington D.C. during the 1994 World Cup, but the highlight of her fandom has been a trip to Anfield. After a cross-country migration she settled in Seattle and during the extended rainy season you’ll find her in front of the TV yelling in support of either Liverpool FC or the Sounders. The rest of her free time is spent reveling in and writing about Seattle’s music and food scenes.


Shane Tasker

Raised in Los Angeles, Shane Tasker was once a passionate player in the American Youth Soccer Organization. Occasionally, he still dons his cleats for a quixotic tilt at the net. His love of the game never waned. Nowadays, he is a writer and lives in the Missouri Ozarks. Kansas City is his second home–his wife grew up there. He is thrilled to cover the Wizards for 90:00 Soccer. Among his other interests, Shane counts daydreaming, wandering, reading, the outdoors, and motorcycles.


Mike Newell
Mike Newell

Mike Newell is the principal blogger on the Football Saves all blog, and has been writing about football since March.
He has been covering all aspects of the game from scores and results from his home town team Toronto FC and the Canadian national team, to covering FC Barcelona at the Camp Nou. Michael has been a life long fan of the game, the pivotal moment for him was watching the performance of Zinedine Zidane at the 1998 World Cup, that’s when he knew he was hooked for good.
Michael received a degree on International Development and Economics and is currently living in Toronto Canada.
