With no ChampionsWorld Series tour this summer, some
English Premiership clubs have taken it upon themselves
to set up their own trips to the USA for their preseason
training. Not only will Fulham take on the MLS All-stars
in Columbus on July 30th, but also West Bromwich Albion,
fresh from the Great Escape, and Premiership champions
Chelsea will grace our shores this summer. West Brom
will hit the west coast, playing the LA Galaxy at the
Home Depot Center on July 20th and Chivas USA in Santa
Barbara on July 26th.
Chelsea will do an east coast swing, and bring AC Milan
with them in what tour promoters AEG are decreeing The
World Series of Football. Chelsea will play the Italian
giants at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts
on July 24th and again on July 31st at Giants Stadium
in the swamps of New Jersey. In between, Chelsea will
take on D.C. United at RFK Stadium on July 29th, while
AC Milan venture into the Midwest to play the Chicago
Fire on July 27th at Soldier Field.
