MLS Picks – Week 3

Mark Lincir’s MLS Picks – Week 3

Last weekend’s 1-5 (4-8 overall) dismal performance has my confidence reeling, but it’s never too late to pull things together. If the Galaxy would have been more concerned about holding onto their lead instead of trying to get another goal, I could have pulled out at least another win. Unfortunately, that’s what happens when the guy on the bench doesn’t know how to make the proper adjustments.

Fire @ Crew: This homecoming will be something to celebrate for Sigi and his boys. The Fire rallied late against the Galaxy to salvage a point, but doesn’t look to have too much that the Crew can’t overpower. Crew 2-1.

Dynamo @ D.C. United: Houston will have to rebound from last week’s last second loss to K.C. by picking up some valuable points on the road. But D.C. will have a reinvigorated Ben Olsen patrolling the midfield and the home crowd will demand a big win. D.C. 1-0.

New England @ Wizards: Gansler has his boys playing some good soccer. The firepower up front with EJ and JW might be hard to keep up with this season. New England will have a couple tired players who saw midweek national team duty in their lineup. Wizards 2-1.

FC Dallas @ Rapids: The Rapids pulled off a pretty impressive win over the Crew without the services of Mastroeni and Mathis, but lightning won’t strike twice in Denver this weekend. FC Dallas 2-0.

Red Bulls @ Real Salt Lake: It would be easy to predict that RSL will be fired up for the home crowd and that the Red Bulls will make a mess of this one on the road. But they won’t. Red Bulls 1-0.

Galaxy @ Chivas USA: I didn’t think that Bradley would rest JOB for the entire 90:00 last week and it cost me a win. If he does happen to play the best American player in the game Chivas USA looks determined to unseat the Galaxy as Kings of the HDC. Chivas USA 2-1.
