Mark Lincir’s MLS Picks – Week 11

If you’re social life is seriously struggling, at least you have the excuse that there’s a whole weekend worth of MLS games to keep you home at night. How do the Crew get blasted by D.C. United midweek and then come back and beat FC Dallas on the road? MLS is tough to predict, but many would argue whether that’s the beauty of it or the problem with it. Is everybody good? Or is everybody crap? I’m making my predictions a scientific affair this week, but I’m not letting you in on the formula yet? Try to figure it out yourself. I went 4 – 4 last week and now sit at 26-33 on the season.

Thursday
Chivas @ Galaxy: It’s really a home game for both, but with it technically the Galaxy’s home game you know they’re going to come out to play. The Galaxy obviously LOVE playing at home and but unfortunately can’t figure out a way to play a decent game of soccer on the road. Galaxy 2-1.

Friday
Real Salt Lake @ Rapids: The Rapids have to rebound after getting spanked by Chivas USA 4-1 on the road and not let the worst team in the league beat them on their home turf. Rapids 1-0.

Saturday
Wizards @ Crew: The Crew stole one on the road last week and should find Crew Stadium to their liking against this hard-to-figure-out Eastern Conference rival. Don’t let me down Sigi! Crew 1-0.
Dynamo @ Red Bulls: The Dynamo are good, but I just have the feeling that the Red Bulls might pull one out of their ass (and no, I’m not smoking crack). Red Bulls 2-1.

Sunday
Chivas USA @ FC Dallas: FC Dallas better answer to their fans with a resounding win over a Chivas USA team that will have spent a lot of physical and emotional energy at the Honda Super Clasico just days earlier. FC Dallas 3-1.

Revolution @ Fire: No way the Fire is going to lose at the opening of their new stadium, no matter how legit the opponent. Plus, they have to make up for losing to RSL last weekend. Somebody from the Fire better fess up to how late did everyone stayed out the night before last weekend’s game.

D.C. United @ Galaxy: Sticking with my new scientific method means that I have to take the Galaxy in this one even though I know they’ll be tired from playing Chivas USA just a couple nights earlier. But D.C. can’t keep playing this well for too much longer and the Galaxy are at HOME! Galaxy 1-0 in an ugly one.
