Guess which location we (Baby Bruce) and I were at yesterday
when we almost got hit by a car?
a) the Autobahn
b) a city street
c) a stadium parking lot
d) a walking path in a PARK!
If you guessed “d” you would be correct.
Baby Bruce and I were on our way to the Stadium in Stuttgart,
walking through a park when a car ran up behind us.
In the driver’s defense, he did honk. Even if
we got hit by the car I don’t think it would have
hurt much…the car was so small. And he wasn’t
speeding; he was simply driving along a nature path
in a park. What’s the big deal, right?
Last
night it finally rained and it felt a lot better than
the sweltering weather we encountered in Stuttgart.
The party is starting to really heat up now that things
are starting to get down to the wire in the group phases.
A number of Brazilians I have spoken to aren’t
that happy with their team’s play and don’t
feel like their team has what it takes to win it all.
I think they always just say that, because their team
is shooting for title #6.
Last
night went pretty late and I’m a little beat,
so I’ll let these pictures tell you the rest of
the story. Despite the “car on path” incident,
we’re having a great time talking to all the different
people we run into all day long. Everyone is here for
the same reason; to watch their team do well and enjoy
some great soccer.
