DAY 27
SAY IT AIN’T SO

They (somebody who obviously didn’t
know how to have fun) say that all good things must
come to an end. I couldn’t disagree more! If it’s
good, you must keep it going. Otherwise, you’re
simply an idiot. First, let me summarize my trip to
Germany and then I will elaborate on what I’ve
done since then and my plans for the future.

Germany:
Watched soccer…ate brats…met nice people…can’t
talk about it…went to sleep…ate free breakfast
in hotel…no comment…walked around…can’t
talk about it…drank…watched soccer….went
to game…interviewed people…sort of forgot
what I did…don’t want to talk about it…went
sight-seeing…rode train…no comment…partied…drank…
ate…hotel…bus…train…rain…can’t
remember…
food…soccer…ATM…credit cards…lawyers
advising me to claim that I forgot…

Since then I have:
Went on walks with wife around neighborhood…went
to beach with wife to go for walks…had date with
wife to make up for going to Germany…listened
to wife tell beautiful story while walking on the beach…

What I plan to do:
Can’t describe it with words…forgot what
I was going to say…plan next big trip and vow
never to do a DAILY blog again….weekly would be
enough for you wouldn’t it?
This summer has been great, and I plan
on having many great summers in the future. It all couldn’t
have happened without the support of my publisher, Brad
Nichols…the mag’s Editor, Bill Hodson…my
loving wife who I think ENJOYED having me gone for so
long (I’m not a pain in the ass, am I?)…and
all the people who went over to Germany to make it the
great party that it was!

I also want to thank Mike and Adrian at
Soccer Travel for hooking me up with my accommodations
in Germany…Judith at LTU for coordinating my flight
and sitting Baby Bruce right next to Lil’ John…Kristina
at PUMA (who can claim their first World Cup with PUMA-sponsored
Italy) for kitting me out with plenty of gear and Jed
at Soccadelic.

Despite never disappearing for days on
end with a Heidi Klum look-a-like, I would also like
to thank Baby Bruce (a.k.a. Adam Crawshaw) for taking
his smacks to the back of the head like a man and for
always having things organized and planned for me…
Until next time: Auf Wiedersehen!
